The “Dr. Lisa Durant-Jones Student Scholarship” was established in 2024 in partnership with Nazareth University to a deserving graduating high school senior or current undergraduate student of African descent.
This is a merit-based scholarship awarded based on demonstrated superior academic achievement, community leadership (through service, volunteering, social justice, etc.), and a commitment to continued leadership at Nazareth. Eligible applicants must be currently attending or admitted for full-time enrollment at Nazareth University, be a United States citizen or legal resident, and have a permanent address in one of the following counties: Genesee, Livingston, Monroe, Ontario, Orleans, or Wayne.
Candidate selection will be conducted by Gamma Iota Boulé Foundation based upon all listed criteria and then recommended to Excellus BCBS for final approval.
