Dr.Sibert Douglas Student Excellence Scholarship
The “Dr. Sibert Douglas Student Excellence Scholarship” was established in 2020 in partnership with Sigma Pi Phi Fraternity, Gamma Iota Boulé to provide financial assistance to help defray costs of attending a college or university to a student with outstanding achievements in Education, Community Service, Sports, or Arts & Culture. The Fraternity and Gamma Iota Boulé Foundation aim to provide financial assistance to help defray costs of attending college to a deserving graduating high school senior or existing college or university undergraduate student who:
- Has demonstrated superior academic achievement;
- Has volunteered regularly, demonstrated good moral standards, and made significant contributions in various community activities that support the pursuit of excellence;
- Currently attending or has been admitted to an accredited college or university;
- Is a United States citizen or legal resident;
- Attended high school in one of the following counties: Genesee, Livingston, Monroe, Ontario, Orleans, and Wayne.
Candidate selection will be conducted by the Advancement of Education Committee based upon all listed criteria and then recommended to the GIB Foundation Board of Trustees for final approval.
